Nurse Visitors to the Elderly work with Health Visitors to offer support
and advice to older clients living in the community.
District Nurses treat patients at home, in Health Centres, Doctors'
Surgeries in Social Services Homes and Day Centres and Private Residential
Homes. They also provide advice and nursing aids to patients and their carers.
This is an extension of the District Nursing Service and may be arranged
by contacting the District Nursing Service.
Health Visitors offer advice and support on all health issues relating to
the prevention of ill health and disease. They visit all age groups in the home
but with particular emphasis on families with young children.
All children under 5 have a named Health Visitor.
