If you feel that you or the person you care for are not hearing as
clearly as you ought, you should consult your doctor. Your doctor may refer you
to a consultant audiologist who can offer advice. Treatment is available and if
you need a hearing aid it is available free through the National Health Service.
Do not buy any hearing aid privately or reply to advertisements without first
consulting your doctor.
Equipment (such as flashing light door alarms and TV aids) to help in the
home is available on loan from Social Services.
