  Emergencies

 

If you suddenly become ill and/or are temporarily unable to manage, for example with shopping or cooking, contact Social Services.  They will arrange for an assessment and discuss what help may be available to you. 

 

Falls

·        If someone is hurt or unconscious dial 999

·        If they are not hurt but no one is available to help get the person up contact your local Ambulance Control on: (01772) 865965

 

Medic Alert

If the person has a ‘hidden’ illness, e.g. diabetes, allergies etc, wearing a Medic Alert necklace or bracelet allows the emergency services to easily identify the condition:

            Lions International- emergency information scheme

The scheme is for anyone who feels vulnerable while living at home, as it provides emergency services with details of any allergy or illness and a contact name if they are called to your home. It is available free of charge from surgeries, hospitals, chemists and some volunteer agencies.
