  Concessions

Most concessions are offered to people who have reached the state pension age (i.e. 60 years for women, 65 years for men).  However, the qualifying age may be different for different organisations so it is always worth checking.

In some cases, a concession may be offered if you are receiving a qualifying benefit such as Income Support, whatever your age.

Bus Passes

The pass is free and you need a passport photo. You need to take something to confirm your age.  They are available at either Morecambe or Lancaster Town Hall cashier desks.  A pass holder can travel for half fare on all local bus services wholly within Lancashire regardless of the operator.

For more details of concessions on other journeys see NOWCARD IN BUSES

Senior Railcards

There are a number of railcards that provide reductions.  The Senior Railcard is available to anyone aged 60 or over and costs £18.  Available from all main railway stations.  You need to provide proof of age with something like a passport (pension books are not accepted).  Senior Railcard holders can also buy a 'Rail Europe' Senior Card for £5 for savings of up to 30% on rail and sea travel in 28 European countries.

For more information about the 'Rail Europe' card ring International Rail Enquiries
